In November, I published an essay in which I outlined several of my basic objections to Christian baptisms. The article received a fair amount of the critical response (for example, see the comments here), which was understandable and indeed expected given the sensitive nature of the subject which I addressed. However, most of the response focused on the controversial and much larger question of how to best raise children in regards to religion — a subject which I, admittedly, did not really address in much depth. I should say that I would like to write an essay on this question at some point in the near future. But, for now, I simply have too many commitments to allocate the energy the project deserves.
